15 Stylish & Practical Outfits for Norway & Denmark This Summer – Carry-On Packing Guide

I’ve been planning out what I’m wearing for this trip for over a year, which might sound wild, but I have a lot of fun with it! Plus, it helps me spread the cost over several months instead of buying everything at once. I started with a general idea of what I’d wear, but about four months out, I adjusted my plans a little. Now that the trip is getting closer, I’m focusing on how everything will actually work—what I’m wearing each day and how each outfit fits the activities we have planned. We’ll be spending three days in Denmark and the rest in Norway, so I’m considering outfits for city exploring, travel days, hiking adventures, and some much-needed relaxing. Packing everything into a carry-on means being strategic, but I’m excited to make it all work!

Day 1/ Day 2

That makes sense! Combining Day 1 and Day 2 works well since the first day is really just the overnight flight. For the plane ride, I’m keeping it all about comfort—my plaid pants are super cozy, and my Beatles tee is incredibly soft. I’m layering with a cardigan so I can easily take it on and off depending on the temperature.

On Day 2, we have a long layover in a European airport, and I plan to take advantage of that by showering and changing. I feel like this will help me stay awake and reset for the day ahead. I’ll switch into my jeans so I’m ready to explore as soon as we land in Copenhagen!

Day 3

For today, I’m keeping the jeans from the day before since I wouldn’t have worn them for long, but I’ll switch to a different top to keep things fresh. Since this first part of the trip includes staying in a hotel, I won’t be able to do laundry until we get to Oslo, so I’m keeping that in mind while planning outfits. Today will mostly be about walking around the city, so I want something comfortable but still put-together for exploring Copenhagen!

Dinner Outfit

For the dinner outfit I’m liking this black dress and these slip ons. I own the shoes they are comfortable. I think sometimes it’s fun to go back to the hotel relax for a little while and change clothes after a long day of exploring

Day 4

For our second day of exploring, I’m all about comfort. These wide-leg, quick-dry pants are perfect for travel since they don’t take up much space in my bag and are super easy to wear. I’m pairing them with a plain brown tee for a simple yet put-together look that works for a full day of walking and sightseeing. Practical, comfy, and effortless—just what I need for exploring Copenhagen!

Day 5

Today is a shorter travel day, with the morning spent flying into Oslo. I used to wear leggings a lot, but not so much anymore—however, since I’ve already worn through all my pants during our Copenhagen stay, they’re my best option for today. Luckily, we’ll be able to do laundry once we arrive in Oslo, so I’m not too worried. I’ll be wearing one of the plain t-shirts I packed as extras for sleeping or days like this when I just want something simple and fresh. And of course, I’m bringing my cardigan again—it’s my go-to for flying since it keeps me comfortable and cozy!

Day 6

For our full day of exploring in Oslo, I’m keeping it lightweight and comfortable. My plaid pants from the plane are extremely cozy, so they’re perfect for a full day of walking. I’m pairing them with a lightweight beige tee, and if it gets chilly, I’ll throw on my beige button-up as an extra layer. Since we’ll be doing a lot of exploring, I’m going with my sandals to keep things easy and breathable. Simple, comfy, and perfect for a day in the city!

Day 7

Since today is a travel day with at least five hours on the train, I’m keeping things comfy and easy. I’m wearing my black slides since they’re great for a relaxed travel day. I’m pairing them with jeans and a long-sleeve shirt—comfortable enough for the train ride but still put together for when we arrive. Once we get to our destination, we’ll check into our Airbnb, take some time to relax, and then head out for dinner. Keeping it simple and practical for a low-key but enjoyable day!

Day 8

For our first day in a small town in Norway, we have one scheduled event, but otherwise, it’s all about relaxing, eating, and going on walks. I’ll wear my leggings for walking and any hiking we do, but once we’re back at the cabin, I might switch into my light, wide-leg sweatpants for extra comfort. Since we have access to a washer and dryer at our Airbnb, I’m actually re-wearing the same top from Day 6—keeping things simple and practical while making the most of my packed clothes!

Day 9

Today is a travel day with multiple modes of transportation, including a boat ride, so I’m focusing on warmth and quick-dry fabrics. My wide-leg quick-dry pants are perfect for this, paired with a black long-sleeve shirt for an extra layer of warmth. I’m also bringing my rain jacket, just in case the weather turns—better to be prepared, especially when traveling by boat! Comfort, practicality, and staying dry are the priorities for the day.

Day 10

or our first day exploring Bergen—one of the rainiest cities—I’m dressing for the weather. My rain jacket is a must, along with leggings for comfort and ease of movement. I’ll wear a t-shirt as my base layer and bring my button-up shirt in case I need an extra layer. Since staying dry is key, I’m wearing my waterproof hiking boots to keep my feet comfortable no matter what the weather throws at us. Ready to explore, rain or shine!

Day 11

For our second day exploring Bergen, I’m keeping it comfy and practical. I’m wearing my super soft Beatles tee with my quick-dry wide-leg pants—both easy to move in and perfect for a day of sightseeing. Since rain is always a possibility, I’m sticking with my waterproof hiking boots and bringing my rain jacket again. Ready for another day of exploring, no matter the weather!

Day 12

For our last morning in Bergen, we’ll be taking it slow—maybe making one last stop at a café before heading south by boat. Since I always like to dress warm for travel days, I’m wearing my long-sleeve shirt with my brown leggings for a cozy but put-together look. Of course, I’ll have my green rain jacket with me, just in case the weather calls for it. A comfortable and practical outfit for a relaxed morning and a smooth travel day!
