Sometimes a room just needs a little refresh instead of a complete makeover, and that’s exactly what we did with our bathroom.

Our goal was to update the space without spending a fortune. We already had a few things we loved, so instead of replacing everything, we simply added a little more color and made a few inexpensive changes.

What We Changed

The biggest update was a new shower curtain. It instantly became the focal point of the room and gave the bathroom a fresh new feel.

We also painted our vanity and mirror using paint we already had on hand. It’s amazing what a coat of paint can do! This one change made everything feel more coordinated without adding much to the budget.

One of my favorite details is the black towel hooks that we already owned. They work perfectly with the new look, so there was no reason to replace them.

To finish everything off, I also added a black shower rod and matching black shower curtain hooks. Those little details really help tie the room together.

A Few Things Still on My Wish List

I’m calling this bathroom “mostly finished” because there are still a few pieces I’d love to add someday.

  • A cute rabbit hook for our hand towel.
  • Rabbit wall décor as another fun option.
  • Beautiful artwork from Etsy that fits the style perfectly.
  • A coordinating rug (my first choice sold out, but I found another option that I actually like just as much). I’m not completely sure how it will look with the shower curtain, but I think it could work really well.
  • New towels in a coordinating color.
  • A picture frame that picks up the colors from the shower curtain.
  • Another green picture frame option for a little extra color.

Decorating Doesn’t Have to Happen All at Once

One thing I’ve learned is that decorating a home doesn’t have to be finished in a weekend. I actually prefer collecting pieces over time. It gives me the chance to find items I truly love instead of buying everything at once just to fill the space.

This bathroom refresh is proof that a few simple updates—a shower curtain, some paint, and a couple of black accents—can completely change the feel of a room.

I’m excited to slowly add a few more of the items on my wish list, but for now, I’m really happy with how this little budget-friendly refresh turned out!
