New Year’s Eve with Kids: 10 Activities

How to do New Year’s Eve with Kids. I have been doing this since my kids were little and got the idea from Pinterest. We do the times and then they get to open something an activity to do. My kids are now teens but we have my niece and nephew over so the activities spend age groups.

Decor

I don’t go too much on decor but here are some things I got last year. Also, one of our times is a photo booth. Hello New Year steamer, Necklace and headband, 25 light-up, Metallic Tinsel Foil Fringe Curtains Party (this was a lot of fun for the kids to run through, it was on the floor by the end of the night). Photo booth props, Black hats, Masquerade Mask. We don’t buy new usually just look for what we have around the house for photo prop accessories.

Agenda for night

The activities are all in sacks with the times on them. Chalk gift bag labels. You can change the times to suit your family. We don’t always stay up till midnight so we move the toast up. An added activity is Play-Doh usually keeps them busy for a while could do this around board game time for the little ones (another set).

5 pm- Make poppers: I make them out of toilet paper rolls, cut the balloons, Confetti

5:30 pm-Pom pom toss game: For this, I just took painter’s tape and marked our hallway to see how far they could toss the pom pom. Also, we could add some Matchbox cars and see who can go the longest.

6 pm- Photos: I print the photos for the year each person, including the little kids, gets a stack of photos they can look through and glue into a book. You can have markers and stickers.

6:30 pm- Mario Kart

7 pm- Board game: Taco, Cat, Goat game (my daughter’s favorite), I like Ticket to Ride, Family Charades (one the little kids can join in). This is the new game I got.

8 pm- Desert: I usually get cupcakes, but it can be whatever. You can just put plates or silverware in the bag.

9 pm- Resolutions: In the bag, you can put markers. I have used a small canvas to write resolutions in, or I can use your photo book. I also like the idea of just writing down some meaningful words.

10-  Photo Booth: see above

10:30 pm- Blowers/Toast, Kids drink the juice– If not ending early could do some family questions

11- Card game: We usually have sparklers lift over from the 4th of July, so we do this as an activity as well just to be careful with the little ones

1145- Blowers/ Toast
