Here are some road trip hacks for adults. My sister and I are going on a couple road trips this summer. Which made me think, I’m usually packing the car for my family. So what do my sister and I need? My first “Hack” is I tried to use things I already have in the house or I tend to use other places/vacations.
Hydration Road Trip Hack for Adults
I think a small cooler with a couple of our favorite drinks and small Ziploc pack of ice to refill our water bottles. We both recently got these water bottles and are loving them. To refill my water I usually have this in the car.
Entertainment Road Trip Hack for Adults
I would say a book on tape if you both agree. The last time we did a road trip we listened to podcast. We listened to Car Mom. I think I could listen to ones on travel too. Any other ideas of good podcasts? Anther option are these conversation starter cards we take them on vacation with us as well.
Snacks Hack for Adults
I would go for these small snack containers sense it is just the two of us. I also just use Masan Jars. This snack variety pack would be a good buy because sometimes you don’t know what you’ll feel like eating.
Air Freshener Hack
I’ve made this homemade air freshener before and put it under my seat in the car. Instead of parchment paper I used fabric. Mason jars used. I also used these jars to make mini pies. Great snack jars as well.
Organization Hack
These bags, I love for the house and the car. You could use a bag to keep you electric cords when not using and easy transport into the hotel. I use it to fly too. Here is a label maker you can use to label the bags. Also make your own first add kit. I personally just buy these and then reload them as needed. Also you could use them for medication, I use a fabric bag for mine.
The car hooks what we could use for organization. Have four us one for each of our purses, use one for a plastic store bag for trash. I have a tote, I would put the snacks and small lunch bag in for organization. I love these. I even packed one for a beach bag one year. The work great so you aren’t carrying multiple things.

My final thoughts for adult road trip hacks are: 1) you need some entertainment 2) you need food and drink 3) you need organization for things are easy to reach and just visually appealing for a long car ride. This is also where the air freshener comes in you want the car to smell nice for your long trip. Lastly, I’m a big fan of matching t-shirts.
