The Ultimate Norway Packing Guide for Teen Boys. We’re not heading to Norway until 2025, so you might be wondering why I’m starting to think about packing now. There are a few reasons for this early planning. First, I’m hoping that having a plan in place will help me avoid impulse purchases. Our teen already has some key items, like a rain jacket, and several other pieces that are similar to what I’ve listed here. Second, by spreading out purchases over time—like hiking shoes—it makes it easier on the budget, and these items could even make great Christmas gifts! Plus, most of the links I’ve included will work for men’s sizes too.
Things to consider
Some things I’m considering when packing. I know Norway weather can go from cold to warm and cold again all in one day. I live in the midwest. Especially in Spring, I have a sense of what this might be like. So in my packing/outfit planning it consists of layering. We are not just going to Norway. We are stopping in Denmark. There will be larger city stops so keeping in mind that when packing as well. Lastly, each of us plan to bring a carry-on size suitcase and a backpack. Trying not overpack. Below is what I came up with.
Shoes
My son wants to take his Merrill’s he wears them all summer. I did not pack dress shoes for him. I figured he could use his hiking boots or for a summer look his Merrill’s. Then some tennis shoes for walking around the city.

Dress-up Outfit
For my son, I have some golf pants as his dress-up pants. They will be easy to pack and he can wear them multiple times not just for eating out. Then a sweater shirt that he could layer with his zip-up hoodie.

Layering Pieces
My son will have a hooded sweatshirt, zip-up hoodie, and rain jacket. These pieces can be layered on top of themselves. They are also easy to take off when needed since temperatures can fluctuate within the same day.

Pants
For pants, he only needs to take three, really four, counting his golf pants. He already has the brown ones. All the pants are quick-dry.

Shirts
Packing at least one long-shelve, maybe two. Then, this pack of three is easy to pack. One graphic tee to break things up. He will also have his dress shirt that is casual enough to wear in the rotation of clothes.
