Here are five toddler beach essentials that are easy to pack. I like to keep it simple when going to the beach.
First essential: Shade
One thing I don’t have in the pictures that is essential for families is shade. We go to North Carolina mostly, and these (SHIBUMI SHADE) are very popular, we bought one to use this year. A cheaper option would be this Sun Ninja from Amazon. Even though there is share do not forget your favorite sunscreen.
Second Essential: Toys
I have four essential toys for the beach. A shovel, my son’s favorite. He likes to have a big shovel not the one’s that come in the bucket of toys. But that brings me to number two a bucket to build sand castle and transport water. If more people want to help with the building of the sand castle then this four pack of shovels might come in handy. Another favorite activity for my son is make roads so have some vehicles to drive on them. Lastly my daughter is mostly content just with the water, though she has some sea animals that she can play with. Also sense we fly they were her toys to play with on the plane. One of the bucket options I have looks like it is great for travel. My nephew has it so we will see how it works when we are at the beach this year.
Third Essential: Towels
Besides toys we need towels and blankets to be off of the sand. The blanket I like is from Sand Cloud (Amazon link). I love the colors. I saw this hooded beach towel on Amazon that is adorable. About everyone in our family has one of these beach towels from Nomadix, they are great (here is link to one we own). Another towel we use that are easy to pack are quick dry micro fiber towels. We have this blanket that would also work well at the beach we use it a lot during soccer/track session. This summer I bought this blanket for a concert we went to you can easy fit it in your purse.
Fourth Essential: Drinks and Snacks
We take reusable water bottles everywhere. I found these cute water bottles on Amazon (yeti one, Oisiz Kids Water Bottle). My nieces and nephew have the Yeti one it is the perfect size and easy to clean.
For snacks fresh fruits, yogurt and vegetables. These containers are perfect to put snack variety in. My niece loves these yogurt pouches. We usually don’t have to much food sense we stay close to the beach. However when my kids were younger I did pack a cooler to take to the beach for drinks and snacks. Sometimes the place you are staying might have one. Here is a similar one to what I use to bring.
Fifth Essential: Bag
You need something that you can carry everything in. I sometimes use my beach bag as my carry on but when my kids were little I used a large tote that I would pack. The blue/green bag packs up small so would be good for travel. There is a brown mesh one that looks a little more fancy. These Bogg bags seem to be really popular but expensive. My favorite bags tend to be a large tote for the beach/pool etc.
Conclusion
Heading to the beach with toddlers doesn’t have to be complicated. By sticking to the basics—shade, snacks and drinks, toys, a sturdy bag, and towels—you can keep things simple and stress-free, allowing everyone to enjoy the sun, sand, and surf. With these five essentials, you’ll be prepared for a fun and relaxing day by the water, without the overwhelm of overpacking. So next time you hit the beach, pack light, keep it simple, and make lasting memories with your little one!
