I’m all about outfits that feel good and look put together—especially when comfort and layering are involved. Today I’m sharing one of my favorite go-to outfits and how I remade it in two totally different ways just by switching up colors and a few pieces.
Same vibe, different mood.
Outfit One: Cozy Comfort Layering (Warm & Earthy)
This first look is my original outfit and very much my comfort zone—relaxed, layered, and easy to wear all day.
I started with my Hudson pants from Free People. They’re no longer available, so I linked a great Amazon lookalike that has the same relaxed fit and lived-in feel. These are the kind of pants that instantly make an outfit feel fun.
For the top, I wore my old Wrangler tiger t-shirt. Again, this one’s no longer available, so I found a similar graphic tee to link. If you like that oversized, slouchy look (which I do), I’d definitely recommend sizing up.
Next came the layering piece—a rust-colored sweatshirt from Amazon. My original sweatshirt was from Aerie, but this Amazon version gives the same cozy vibe and warm tone that works so well for fall and winter layering.
I finished the outfit with Sorel boots, which are likely an updated version of the ones I’ve owned and loved for years. They add just enough interest to keep the outfit from feeling too basic while still being incredibly wearable.
This whole look is perfect for errands, casual days at home, or anytime you want to feel cozy but still pulled together.
Outfit Two: Cool & Casual (Blue Tones Refresh)
To remake this outfit, I kept the same overall formula—pants, graphic tee, sweatshirt, and comfy shoes—but switched up the color palette completely.
For this version, I went with Free People pants in a blue tone, which instantly changes the mood of the outfit. Blues always feel a little fresher and more casual to me.
I paired them with a manatee graphic t-shirt, which keeps that relaxed, lived-in feel while tying in with the cooler color scheme.
On top, I added a blue sweatshirt, sticking with the same cozy layering idea but leaning into different shades of blue for a more laid-back, sporty look.
Instead of boots, I finished this outfit with my blue Adidas sneakers—ones I already own and can genuinely say are super comfortable. This version feels perfect for walking around, travel days, or anytime you know you’ll be on your feet.
Why I Love Remaking Outfits Like This
This is such a good reminder that you don’t need an entirely new outfit to get a fresh look. Keeping the same silhouette and swapping colors—or just changing shoes—can completely transform how an outfit feels.
If you’re trying to get more wear out of your closet (and shop a little smarter), this is one of the easiest ways to do it.
Let me know which version you like better—the warm rust tones or the cool blues 💙🤎
