Week 3, Outfit 3 – Textures, Plaid & a Hint of Florals

As we move deeper into the school year, I’ve noticed myself gravitating toward soft textures, warm tones, and layering pieces that make getting dressed in the morning feel effortless. Today’s outfit hits all those notes—comfy but polished, and a perfect example of mixing old favorites with Amazon finds.

The Original Outfit

Let’s start with what I actually wore:

  • Plaid Shirt: This one’s from a boutique I found a few years ago. The blue lines mixed with a beige base make it surprisingly versatile and easy to style for fall.
  • Waffle Pants: These Madewell pants are so soft and broken-in at this point, I honestly wish I had bought two pairs. The texture adds dimension to the outfit and they’re just structured enough to still feel work-appropriate.
  • New Balances: Beige sneaker
  • Floral Cardigan: This one might look familiar—it’s that Amazon cardigan with the blue and green floral pattern that I keep pulling out on repeat. It just works with so many outfits.

Amazon Lookalike Outfit

If you’re looking to recreate this outfit (or just want a similar vibe without hunting down boutique or old-season pieces), here’s the Amazon version I’ve put together:

  • Smocked Puff Sleeve Shirt – The burgundy and beige stripe gives off a cozy, early-fall feel and brings a nice contrast to the floral layering piece.
  • Blue + Green Floral Cardigan – The same one I wore in the original outfit, because it’s that good.
  • Puffy Quilted Tote Bag – I’ve been loving this lightweight bag with compartments—it’s stylish and practical for carrying everything from your planner to snacks to a backup pair of flats.
  • Waffle-Textured or Wide-Leg Pants – There are plenty of comfy options on Amazon that mimic the Madewell pants’ texture and fit.

Why It Works

This look is all about balancing cozy textures with a few standout patterns. The plaid shirt and floral cardigan might seem like an unexpected mix, but the soft blues and greens bring everything together. Plus, layering these pieces makes transitioning between a chilly morning and a warmer afternoon much easier—something every educator can appreciate.
