5 Things I’m Loving This July

July has been full of travel, family time, and finally getting back home. Here are a few things I’m reaching for and enjoying this month.

1. My Go-To Summer Outfit

Comfort wins every time. I’ve been living in a pair of relaxed brown plaid shorts with an easy khaki T-shirt. It’s simple, comfortable, and works whether I’m running errands or hanging out at home.

One of my favorite things lately is that my teen daughter and I can wear similar outfits without looking like we’re matching. She has the same plaid shorts in blue with a dusty purple T-shirt and colorful Teva-style sandals. It’s fun that we can share the same style while still making it our own.

2. My Favorite Travel Accessory

Hands down, it’s our pillow-blanket combo. We originally bought them for our trip to Norway last year, but they’ve become our travel must-have. We used them again on our flight to Arizona and during our long drive afterward. They’re perfect for planes, road trips, or even relaxing at the hotel after a long day.

3. What I’m Reading (Well…Listening To!)

Our audiobook for the drive home was The Women by Kristin Hannah. I know a lot of people have already read it, but if it’s still on your list, I highly recommend it. It made the miles go by so much faster, and it’s one of those stories that stays with you long after you finish.

4. My Favorite Summer Snack

I’m keeping it simple this summer. I always have Izze sparkling juice drinks in the fridge (we actually subscribe and have them delivered), and kettle corn popcorn is my favorite afternoon snack. Sweet, salty, and easy—it’s hard to beat.

5. My Current Home Project

Now that we’re finally back home, I’m giving our front deck a little refresh. It didn’t get much attention while we were traveling, but it’s one of my favorite places to sit in the evenings.

I’m adding a washable outdoor rug; we have a cozy chair we were gifted (linked to a similar one), a small side table for my drink or book, and a soft outdoor light to make it feel more inviting. I also love using planters on wheels so I can easily move my flowers around to catch the sun—or bring them in when the weather turns.

Sometimes the smallest updates make you want to spend more time outside, and that’s exactly the goal this summer.
