Golf Season Refresh: Updating My Son’s Golf Wardrobe

There’s just something about the start of golf season that makes me want to hit reset—not just on schedules and routines, but on gear too. This year, it was time to refresh my son’s golf clothes, and honestly, it ended up being one of those small updates that makes a big difference in how put-together (and confident) he feels out on the course.

Starting with His Favorite Shirts

If your kid is anything like mine, they definitely have preferences—and he has a clear favorite golf shirt brand (the one with the cactus prints). I get it though… the colors are so good. Think beige, greens, and blues that feel fun without being over-the-top. They’re stylish but still totally appropriate for the course.

Even though he wears his school-issued shirt on actual golf days, I still grabbed four additional shirts for practice and weekend rounds. That way, he has options—and honestly, it just makes getting dressed easier.

Here’s what I added:

  • A quick-dry blue shirt (perfect for warmer days)
  • Two Amazon finds that are budget-friendly and easy to rotate in
  • A pink and purple patterned shirt that leans a little more playful and teen-inspired

I love mixing in those brighter or patterned pieces. They just feel a little more “him” and keep things from looking too uniform all the time.

Mixing in Some Color with Pants

For pants, I wanted a mix of neutrals and something a little different. We landed on:

  • Beige (a classic, goes with everything)
  • Gray (easy and versatile)
  • Muted blue/turquoise (my favorite!)

That muted blue tone is such a fun switch-up. It pairs especially well with a dusty mauve shirt I found (linked from Amazon, though I may look for another option too). It’s one of those combos that looks effortless but still stands out a little.

I’m also planning to add black golf pants (not pictured), since that’s what works with his school uniform. I found a well-priced option that makes it easy to stock up without overthinking it.

Finishing It Off: Golf Shoes

We also updated his shoes with a pair of Puma golf shoes, which are practical but still look really sharp. Good shoes make a difference—not just for comfort, but for traction and stability during those long practice sessions.

Why This Refresh Works

What I like most about this little wardrobe update is that it balances:

  • Function (breathable, quick-dry pieces)
  • Style (fun colors and prints that still feel appropriate)
  • Flexibility (works for school, practice, and casual rounds)

And let’s be real—when teens feel good in what they’re wearing, it shows. Whether he’s heading to practice or just working on his swing, he’s got options that fit his style and the season.

If you’re heading into golf season too, this is your sign that a quick refresh doesn’t have to be complicated—just a few thoughtful pieces can go a long way.
